The Foundation also gives preservation grants that help organizations around the

state save their own special pieces of the Texas past. These preservation groups are just some of the

recent beneficiaries of THF grants

● The Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum Cuero

• The Gorgas Science Foundation, Brownsville

● Houston Arts and Media

• Millard’s Crossing Historic Village, Nacogdoches

● The Texas State Archives and Library Commission, Austin

● The Wittliff Collections in San Marcos

● The Former Texas Rangers Memorial Cross Program, Fredericksburg

• Friends of the Fulton Mansion, Rockport

 

TEXAS HISTORICAL FOUNDATION PRESERVATION ENDOWMENTS

The Texas Historical Foundation Board of Directors administers the following preservation endowments:

Directors Endowment – Funds preservation projects at the discretion of the Texas Historical Foundation

board

Joseph P. Ballard Archeology Fund – Supports archaeological research and preservation projects

Jeanne R. Blocker Memorial Fund – Created for preservation projects in rural areas of Texas. Rural,

as defined by the guidelines set up by the THF board, are communities with a population of fewer than

30,000.

J.P. Bryan Preservation Trust – Funds general preservation activities

Charles E. and Sarah Meadows Seay Fund – Funds general preservation activities

Texas Legal History Preservation Trust – Supports projects that involve the preservation of materials

related to the legal history of the Republic and the State of Texas
