For the last 30 years, Texas HERITAGE magazine has done an award-winning job of telling the stories of
the men and women who came before us—and of those working today to save our buildings, culture, and
traditions.
Texas HERITAGE magazine has received awards from business communications groups and historical
organizations and was the official publication for the opening of the Bob Bullock Texas State History
Museum; joint issues have been produced with the Texas Map Society, the Texas Archeological Society,
and the Texas General Land Office, among others.

Can I submit an article to Texas HERITAGE?
The publishers do accept unsolicited manuscripts of less than 2,000 words for consideration. It is best to
check with the publishers regarding the proposed editorial calendar and level of interest before sending
an unsolicited manuscript.
Does Texas HERITAGE compensate authors and artists?
At this time, Texas HERITAGE does not compensate contributors. We do offer a byline and
complimentary copies of the magazine.
Can I order back copies of Texas HERITAGE?
In many instances, back issues of the magazine are available. For availability and ordering information,
contact THF. Back issues cost $5 each, plus $1.50 shipping and handling. Refer to the website link on
back issues to determine themes. Please note the volume and date of the issue when ordering.
How can I obtain a subscription to Texas HERITAGE?
Join the Texas Historical Foundation today! For as little as $35 a year, you can become a THF member
and receive Texas Heritage magazine four times a year.
Can articles in Texas HERITAGE be reprinted?
In most cases, the publishers usually allow articles to be reprinted, with the proper credit line. Please
contact THF with requests.
Does Texas HERITAGE magazine accept advertising?
Yes, the publication does have advertising, ranging from classifieds to display insertions. A rate card and

Does Texas HERITAGE run book reviews?
Yes. Publishers may send review copies of books on Texas history, architecture, archeology,
